Record Attendance at the 2001 Podengo Specialty Show

The Portuguese Podengo Club's Specialty took place on June 16, 2001, in “Tapada da Ajuda”, Lisbon. There were a record amount of entries - 120 dogs and 33 national and international exhibitors. 

The organization was under the responsibility of Podengo Portuguese's Club. The judges where H. Tavares Passadinhas and Luís Catalan. Among the best dogs of the breed presented, the Best In Show was a Small Podengo Smooth-Haired: "Pinhão da Praia do Ribatejo" (in the picture). 

This annual assembly of breeders and other admirers of the breed, demonstrates the popularization of  the Podengo, and  the vitality of the podengueiros in their efforts to preserve this fine animal.
